During the XIX century, when public executions were still a mass phenomenon and prisoners had no rights, Concepción Arenal became a visitor of female jails. It was in La Coruña prison where Arenal began her fight to improve prisoners’ living conditions and started a reform of the penitential institutions.
A Distinto Films and Zenit TV production in coproduction with Televisió de Catalunya, Televisión Española and Canal Sur Televisión, with the participation of Televisión de Galicia. With the collaboration of Instituto de la Cinematografía y de las Artes Audiovisuales, Axencia Galega das Industrias Culturais, Institut Català de les Empreses Culturals and Instituto de la Mujer del Gobierno de España.
